Week 1 Video Library (IBM Technology)
Short videos to watch alongside the lectures. Watch the JBIT lectures first, then the recommended explainers for another voice on the same ideas.
JBIT lectures
These are the short lecture videos recorded for this week, in your instructor's own voice. Watch them after reading Lecture 1 and Lecture 2.
- Week 1, Video 1: What AI Can and Cannot Do (coming soon). A plain-language walk through the mental model from Lecture 1.
- Week 1, Video 2: Your First AI Session (coming soon). A screen-share of creating an account and running your first prompts.
Instructor videos for this week are in production and will appear here. Until they post, the lectures and reading guide carry the full content you need for the knowledge check and deliverable.
Recommended viewing
Curated short explainers from IBM Technology and the IBM SkillsBuild companion materials. Each one reinforces a Week 1 idea from a second perspective. Links are provided in the course resources area.
- "What is generative AI?" A five-minute overview of how these tools produce language. Reinforces Lecture 1.
- "Large language models, explained simply." Why the tools are fluent and why they can still be wrong. Reinforces the "confidently wrong" idea.
- "Using AI responsibly at work." Practical guardrails for privacy and accuracy. Reinforces Lecture 2.
How to watch
You do not need to watch every video to complete the week. Use them where a second explanation helps. If a concept from the lectures did not click, the matching video is the fastest way to hear it said a different way.
